Adam calls new album "eclectic" (Photo: People)
Adam Lambert revealed some details about his "eclectic" upcoming album to People magazine:
âThere are songs on there that are anthems; there are song that make you want to dance; there are songs that make you feel sexy; there are songs that touch you, hopefully, with more emotional, insightful, deeper lyrics. There are songs that are more in the line with a rock sound. There are some that are really pop-oriented.â
Adam said the album is about halfway done, and he has already completed the photo shoot for it. He said it's going to be fun, and he can't wait to see people's reactions to it.
Adam proved his eclectic range on American Idol, so everyone knows he's got the chops to pull it off. This album is already sizing up to be an instant classic, and one or more of the singles may break the Black Eyed Peas' record for longest time at #1 on the Billboard chart.
I don't want to jinx the album, but I really do think Adam is that good. An artist with his instant star power hasn't come along since, well, Elvis Presley or the Beatles. There are numerous reports from local newspapers and magazines on the Idols Tour stops that Adam is THE undisputed star of the show, and always delivers outstanding, pitch-perfect performances. He never has a bad night, even with all those high notes. Pretty amazing if you think about it.
In other Adam news, his charity for public schools at DonorsChoose.org has already raised nearly $62,000 in just the first eight days!
The charity pits Adam's different fan groups (tens of thousands of people) against each other to compete to see who can raise the most money to help public schools. Adam said the charity is close to his heart, and he got the idea after getting tons of gifts from his fans, which he felt were better suited for people in need.
That kind of thinking shows a lot of class on the part of an entertainer. Adam is humble to a fault, and is clearly interested in using his fame for a greater purpose than his own self-aggrandizement. What a refreshing change from the modern trend of fame-chasing, no-talent "musicians" like the Paris Hiltons and Heidi Montags of the world. Unlike those people, Adam is the real deal and will be around for a long, long time.
