Adam Lambert Signs Record Deal, Talks 'IDOL' and Sexuality To Rolling Stone

Today Tuesday, June 9th, 19 Recordings, the music division of 19 Entertainment which produces AMERICAN IDOL has announced in a news release that it had signed Adam Lambert, to a recording contract and that he would release his debut album on RCA Records in the fall.

The dynamic Lambert finished second to fellow contestant Kris Allen, who has also been signed to 19 Recordings. In the official statement, Mr. Lambert said that he and RCA "are 100% on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings." Adam Lambert also appears in the newest issue of Rolling Stone and answers a number of questions people have been asking, most of all the big question of his sexuality. Lambert remarks to the Rolling Stone interviewer that, "I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay." He adds, "Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, 'I'm going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler." The issue is out this Friday. Lambert was a true stand out this season, the young Los Angeles based singer made every song his own. Adam is also is no stranger to the theatrical stage having gotten his early start behind the footlights.

Adam Lambert appeared in "Wicked" twice, once with the touring company in March 2005 for a six month contract, and then opening in the sitdown Los Angeles production in February 2007 and remaining with the show until October 2008. For both engagements in "Wicked", he was a member of The Ensemble and understudied the role of Fieryo, the show's love interest. "

In addition to performing in WICKED, Adam Lambert also had a role in The Ten Commandments and appeared in The Zodiac Show.
